Difficult June

We are in Lower Tskluleti now, observing the clearing works which our company conducted on the village road.

Incessant rainfalls on the week-end, just before the start of vacation season created two meter high and four meter wide muddy ravine. Fortunately, there were no casualties -Water buried a car standing by Iveria Virgin Church underneath the soil and isolated Tsklulti residents from the rest of Georgia for two days. Just for two days because owing to hard work of our people, traffic on Tskluleti road renewed swiftly.

Our machinery has stopped working temporarily. Tskluleti is grieving a villager. An elderly woman was taken to Tbilisi, to her native place. She must be buried there. This fact served as an additional motivation for our company - everything was done to ensure that inaccessibility didn't prevent burial process. Village resident Giorgi Tevdoradze pointed out while we conversed with him: "This is very important"- He says, -You started road cleaning and we were not interfered, so we are grateful".

Although this kind of gratitude is little too much, it feels good. Even our logo on out t-shirts looks different. State Construction Company Ltd-This is us and we did our job honestly.

Conducting natural disaster relief works is part of our activities. Our people worked in Dariali to combat consequences of natural disaster there. Those works are already completed which we will discuss later.

Our company works on Akhaldaba road cleaning as well. Eight landslide centers that brought adversity were practically cleared within 24 hours. We managed to restore the village road in three days and made provision of local residents with drinking water, food, medication and other necessities possible. We received only warmth and gratitude from Akhaldaba residents as a response. They expressed their appreciation towards us and the government for swift response, attention and implemented works.

Our company was combating dire consequences in June in Akhaldaba and Tskluleti but those employees who were not delegated to the villages were cleaning Tbilisi zoo and ‘Mziuri' areas with other volunteers.

Since Tbilisi faced such mishap this Summer, Makari grandpa from Tskluleti was convinced nobody would have time to care for the village. He told us: 'I didn't expect this. I thought everybody would be too busy to care for us. However, credit goes to our government for paying attention and responding to our needs'.

This is our responsibility.
