Liquidation of Aftermath of New Disaster in Dariali

Commissioned by the Roads Department under the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the "State Construction Company", Ltd. is implementing new disaster aftermath liquidation works in Dariali Gorge. Civil works are currently in intensive phase. All necessary equipment has been mobilized on the affected area. Specialist are currently attempting to return Terek river to its natural river-bed after which causeway will be arranged.

The Terek river shifted from its natural river-bed on 23rd of June as a result of the mud-slide descended from Devdoraki Ravine, caused by heavy rain. The disaster damaged an 800-meter-long section on Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi international motor road, which prevented vehicle movement on km134-km135 of the road. The situation is closely monitored locally by the heads of relevant bodies of Georgian government and local government.

"State Construction Company", Ltd. carried out disaster aftermath liquidation works in Dariali in 2014 as well. In May and August, a total of 2 million cubic meters of mud-slide descended from Devdoraki ravine. As a result of mobilizing relevant machinery and specialists and working around the clock, the company managed to clean the damaged territory and restore traffic on the road in short periods of time in both of the cases.
