Terek River has been Returned to its Natural River-bed

As a result of intensive works, Terek river has been returned to its natural river-bed and road reconstruction has commenced in Dariali Gorge.

40 units of machinery and corresponding specialist have been mobilized in the affected area. Relevant bodies of "State Construction Company", Ltd. and Roads Department of Georgia are implementing disaster aftermath liquidation and road reconstruction works.

The implementation of works is locally supervised by Ilia Darchiashvili, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia as well as Giorgi Seturidze, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia.

State of emergency on the km134-km135 section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi motor road occured on 23rd of June, as a result heavy rain causing mud-slide to descend from Devdoraki ravine; Terek river shifted from its natural river-bed and an 800-meter-long section of the road was damaged. Disaster aftermath liquidation works in Dariali commenced immediately.
