Construction of 220-seat, multi-profile hospital is starting in Village Rukhi of Zugdidi municipality. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs, David Sergeenko and the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Davit Shavliashvili opened the ceremony of construction launch today. Samegrelo-Zemo-Svaneti Governor, Levan Shonia and Director of constructor "State Construction Company" Ltd, Ioseb Ozashvili attended the opening ceremony.

Construction of such medical institution is a great news for local residents who had been forced to go to Zugdidi whenever they deeded medical treatment. This hospital will be of regional significance and serve not only Samegrelo-Zemo-Svaneti residents but patients from Abkhazia as well.  

This multi profile university clinic will be built in village Rukhi comprising of: Main building with 7 blocks, pathological anatomy, canteen and sterilization buildings. Also, power and boiler buildings. Some of these constructions will be 5 and others, 2 floor buildings.

On the territory of this healthcare complex, an auditorium and a library will be built for medical students and residents. This will enable them to improve their qualifications; Construction of a dormitory is also planned which will provide accommodation for residents, patients and their family members. Sports facilities, parking lots, inner trails, pools and gardens will be set up on clinic territory as well.

All works are conducted in compliance with safety, environmental and seismic standards. Up to 50 workers, along with local residents will be employed on the construction. 600 people, including technical staff will be employed at the healthcare complex after it starts to operate.

220-bed, university clinic with international standards, fully equipped with cutting-edge technologies is being constructed by the decision of the government of Georgia, on request of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

Construction of this multi profile university clinic costs 41 mln 264 thousand GEL in total and is planned to finish in 30 months. Construction works will be financed from the state budget and implemented by "State Construction Company" Ltd.
