Construction of Rukhi multi profile clinic undergoes more speedily than planned

Construction of Rukhi multi profile clinic is undergoing at a faster pace than planned. Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Davit Shavliashvili together with Deputy Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Valeri Kvaratskhelia, Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Levan Shonia and Director of "State Construction Company" observed ongoing construction works today.

220 bed university clinic, fully equipped with cutting-edge technologies is being constructed in Rukhi by the decision of the government of Georgia. The launch of construction works was opened by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Davit Sergeenko and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Shavliashvii.

Constructing this clinic is important for a number of reasons. After it starts to operate 14000 residents of Rukhi, Akhalabastumani and Rike villages won't be forced to go to Zugdidi to receive medical treatment; The hospital will provide assistance to patients from Abkhazia as well; In addition, an auditorium and a library will be built for medical students and residents; Sports facilities, parking lots, inner trails, pools and gardens will be set up on clinic territory as well. A dormitory will be built to provide accommodation for residents, patients and their family members.

At present foundations are laid for all seven blocks of the healthcare complex. Water well capable of supplying the hospital and its other facilities is already drilled; Foundation tile installment is almost completed and construction of columns are underway. Up to 40 local workers are employed on the construction currently. 600 people will be employed at the healthcare complex after it starts to operate.

Construction of this multi profile university clinic costs 41 mln 264 thousand GEL in total and is planned to finish in 30 months. Construction works will be financed from the state budget under the supervision of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and implemented by "State Construction Company" Ltd.
