Project: "State Construction Company" LTD finalized rehabilitation of Gudauri-Kobi 11 km section (96^th and 107^th) of Mtskheta-Stephantsminda-Larsi international road, named as the best project of the year 2013. The rehabilitated section is located on Jvari pass, the main range of the Caucasus, Municipality of Kazbegi. This is the road which connects Stephantsminda, Municipality of Kazbegi and border infrastructure (border crossing point, border police base) with the central part and other regions of Georgia. The road is also a route for both local and mainly international passenger traffic and transit movement.

Rehabilitation works were carried out in high-mountainous terrain of the main range of the Caucasus - Jvari pass - at 2400m altitude, in an unpopulated area. By the beginning of the project there were shreds of asphalt-concrete cover left. The road was mainly graveled with local resources and aggregate material.  

"State Construction Company" LTD carried out works in all necessary directions.

Funding: The project was funded from the state budget; cost of the project was GEL 14 502 066, 28.

Number of employees: The number of people employed for the works was 194; majority of them were locals.  

Outcome: Travel on this critically important road has become faster, safer and more comfortable.
